Thank You From Mr. Darnell

I am very proud today of the great efforts that our 7th graders and their families have made. The team decided as a community service project that they would do a read-a-thon in order to raise money for a member of the GCMS school community to support her and her family as she deals with a severe health issue. Through their efforts they raised over $1600 dollars that will offset this families lost wages and time from work to attend to their health.

Thank you Mrs. Withrow for the great idea to do Community Service projects as part of our character education. Thank you to Mrs. Thames, Mrs. Allen, Ms. Gibson, and Mr. Hoogstraat (the 7th grade team) for spearheading the efforts. And most importantly thanks to our students for reading for a cause!

This is yet another example of this great community, and these great kids, stepping up for someone in need. I am very proud to be a Falcon today!

Mr. Darnell
